ART joins ASUMO project to advance autonomous flight and situational awareness for aerial mobility
Madrid, July 3, 2024.
Spanish technology firm Advanced Radar Technologies proudly announces its participation in the groundbreaking ASUMO project (Architecture for Autonomy and Situational Awareness for UAS and Air Mobility), aimed at pioneering technological solutions for autonomous aerial mobility.
ASUMO seeks to develop the essential capabilities required to enable safe and efficient autonomous flight operations within a flexible, scalable logistics ecosystem. This encompasses unmanned aerial vehicles (UAS) designed for both cargo and passenger transportation. The core goal of ASUMO is to establish a robust technological architecture integrating autonomy and advanced situational awareness solutions, significantly improving operational reliability, energy efficiency, and minimizing noise.
The consortium driving the ASUMO project consists of renowned organizations, including Advanced Radar Technologies, Airbus Defence and Space, Beamagine, and Pildo Labs. Each company brings extensive expertise in technological innovation, collaboratively addressing present and future challenges of autonomous aerial mobility.
ASUMO is supported through Spain's 2024 call of the "Misiones Ciencia e Innovación" program, managed by CDTI (Centre for Technological and Industrial Development) under the Ministry of Science and Innovation. It forms part of the Transfer and Collaboration Program within the Spanish National Plan for Scientific, Technical, and Innovation Research 2024-2027, aligned with Spain’s Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan. The project has received public funding under the reference number MIG-20241006.
With this strategic involvement, Advanced Radar Technologies reinforces its commitment to advancing state-of-the-art radar systems crucial to achieving the next generation of sustainable, safe, and intelligent air mobility.
